Greetings! Welcome to my homepage. On this site, I've put together some pages of information that some people may find helpful. Various topics of interest include TeX/LaTeX, Unix (especially Linux) and just about anything else that I find might be worth putting online. Currently, the major divisions of my site are:
I do have a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. If you want to view my dissertation, you can do so here.
If you would like to email me, see my contact information page.
Enjoy!
Note: I've attempted to try to maintain W3C XHTML/CSS standards compliance when creating these pages. In so doing, I tried to avoid the use of hack code (used by many/most other sites) to work around CSS/XHTML bugs in some browsers - particularly Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE), especially versions prior to 7.0. As a result, if you are using IE you may notice some rendering errors such as: (1) The site map link being partially outside the navigation bar (because IE5\6 implements an incorrect CSS box model); (2) lack of boxes around the navigation bar links (because IE5\6 will not place borders around inline elements); (3) some text boxes left aligned when they should be centered (because IE5 does not understand CSS margin:auto); (4) the need to use full column width for some text boxes (because IE5\6\7 does not understand CSS display:table); (5) The browser view is allowed to be sized too narrow or wide (because IE5\6\7 does not understand CSS min-width or max-width).
If you are using IE for web browsing, please consider doing yourself (as well as web authors) a favor and try a far less buggy and more secure alternative such as the free Firefox browser. Furthermore, downloading and updating Firefox is far easier than with IE because the former, unlike the latter, does not require a massive download, an OS upgrade, and/or a license from Microsoft. Google has been promoting a version of Firefox with the Google toolbar (which I've put a link to at the foot of the page).
A plug for a political effort to help save the world (no kidding) before it is too late:
Dr. Ron Paul for President in 2008
The man "they" don't want you to know about.
Dr. Ron Paul:
Ron Paul supporters are the most powerful grassroots political force on the internet. We raised more funds for Ron Paul in a single day (> $6 million) than any other candidate in the history of American politics. Come join us and see what all the fuss is about.
"Electability" is irrelevant as there is little difference between the mainstream Republicans and Democrats (most Americans have yet to learn this). Virtually all the people who run for national office are unprincipled phonies and puppets who will say or do anything to get elected. Nations are eventually destroyed by such people. Send a message to the powers-that-be by supporting Ron Paul. If need be, support Ron Paul as an independent or write-in candidate, and spread his message beyond the election. The Revolution is just beginning.
